art & design

art

…………………………………………………

PURPOSE: Art can be purely aesthetic, exploring ideas and emotions without a practical application, while design always serves a purpose, like making a product user-friendly or communicating a message clearly.

CREATIVE FREEDOM: Artists usually have greater creative freedom to experiment and express their personal vision, whereas designers often need to work within set parameters and client requirements.

PROCESS: Artists may work more intuitively, relying on instinct and personal interpretation, while designers typically follow a structured process involving research, analysis, and iteration to find the best solution.

design

…………………………………………………

PURPOSE: To develop solutions for problems and enhance people's lives.

SOLVE PROBLEMS: Design can be used to solve specific problems for individuals or universal problems for large groups of people.

CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE: Design can create positive change, connect the world, and improve the human experience.

IMPROVE PRODUCTS, PROCESSES, AND ENVIRONMENTS: Design can improve products, processes, and environments.

COMMUNICATE: Design can be used to communicate clearly, inform, educate, direct, challenge, persuade, influence, dignify, unite, or inspire.

MAKE THINGS BEAUTIFUL: Design can be used to make something beautiful, which refers to quality and appearance.

MAKE THINGS EASIER: Design can be used to make a task easier or faster without losing quality.

INCREASE SAFETY: Design can be used to increase safety.

DECREASE WASTE: Design can be used to recycle, salvage, or decrease waste and pollution.

DESIGNERS use a systematic and creative process that is based on research to find solutions to problems.

DESIGN encompasses various disciplines, such as graphic design, industrial design, and user experience (UX) design.
